Join us Friday, October 24th, from 4:30-6:00 pm for our 5th annual Trunk-or-Treat event for the families at Van Buren Center. What is Trunk-or-Treat? Volunteers decorate the trunks of their vehicles, creating fun and spooky (not too scary) scenes. The children will walk from vehicle to vehicle, collecting candy as they would during a typical trick-or-treating outing. The event will be held in the Van Buren Center Staff Parking Lot (weather permitting) and is a private event for the families staying at the shelter. Volunteer Arrival Time: 4:30-4:45 pm We ask that all volunteers arrive by 4:30 p.m. to allow time to set up. The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. Please let us know if you will be running late so we can assign an easy-to-get-to parking spot. Donation Needs: Bags of candy, small toys, and costumes of all sizes (new or gently used) for the children are needed. The deadline to drop off costumes and candy is Tuesday, October 21st. Email katrina.martin@ymcacolumbus.org to coordinate your donation or if you have any questions or difficulty completing the sign-up to volunteer.
